Stage Two
Africa Day Dublin's Stage Two featured an exciting line-up of African and Irish rappers, hip-hop artists, DJs and bands over the course of the day. Stage Two was coordinated by Goodlife Promotions and MCed by Fabu-D.
Goodlife Promotions
Goodlife Promotions was established in June 2003 and, since then, has established itself as a forerunner in e-marketing and promotions in Lagos, Nigeria. Goodlife has an Irish connection: Nigerian-born Timi Martins – a leader in the Irish urban music industry – is the company’s Media Director.
Following a very successful career with Rap Ireland, Timi has moved on from performing sold-out concerts – with the likes of Snoop Dogg, 50cent, Ying Yang Twins, Rihanna, Akon, Sway and Puff Daddy – to running businesses that coordinate the promotion and logistics of events. In the past, he created a summer sports music festival – Streetball Nationwide (SBN) – which is held every summer.
Timi is also attributed to the DJ School that he created during his tenure as co-founder and Head of Operations with Rap Ireland. This School has given rise to young, aspiring DJs and performers such as DJ Vusi and Frano. Timi now operates a DJ School know as the Blackhouse Studio, located in the heart of Smithfield, Dublin. This is a recording studio, which also serves as a house of learning for up-and-coming performers.
Timi has been involved in various aspects of Ireland’s Africa Day celebrations since 2008, including performing and coordinating acts at all of Irish Aid’s flagship events to date. In 2010, he coordinated the Stage Two line-up and Goodlife Promotions presented a number of acts over the course of the day.
