On Africa Day, the 25th of May, Concern and the Moribo Wa Afrika Musical Dance Group will take to the streets of Dublin with a Not-so-Flash Mob Dance! South African tribal dances will be performed including the well-known coddessa. Dancers will be dressed in tribal costumes and will be accompanied by singers and drummers. Everyone is invited to join in and dance or play a drum for Africa.

The first dance takes place at the intersection of Grafton Street and South King Street at 1.00pm, followed by outside the Powerscourt Centre (South William Street side) at 2.00pm and in front of the GPO on O’Connell Street at 3.30pm.

Event:  Investing in Africa – "Society, Agriculture and Enterprise" conference

This year's third annual conference to mark Africa Day will focus on the role that trade and agriculture have to play in the continent's future economic development.
Trinity College, University College Dublin, and Self Help Africa collaborate with the African embassies in Ireland to present an impressive roster of international speakers to discuss the topic at an afternoon conference to be held at TCD on Africa Day,  Wednesday, 25th May next.

Participating speakers will include:
Dr. Marcela Villarreal, Director of Gender, Equity and Rural Employment at the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation, and co-author of the FAO's recently published 'Women in Agriculture' report;
Prof. Margaret Kigozi, Director of the Uganda Investment Authority;
Prof. Keith Palmer, founder and chairman of AgDevCo and promoter of the African Agricultural Corridors;
Dr. Eoin Gahan, Head of Trade, Environment and Survey Analysis at Forfas;
Kalongo Chitengi,  Self Help Africa Country Director for Zambia.

The conference will take place in the Thomas Davis Lecture Theatre, TCD, from 2.30pm-4.30pm on the afternoon, and will by chaired by RTE chief news correspondent Charlie Bird.

It will be formally opened by Minister for Overseas Development and Trade Jan O'Sullivan, and by the Kenyan Ambassador to Ireland Catherine Muigai Mwangi.
